Correspondence includes reference letters concerning Joseph Daniels' bridge-building skills; letters to Daniels' grandmother; letters complimenting Daniels on THE VILLAGE AT THE END OF THE ROAD; and Daniels' general correspondence. The Civil War diary is from James W. Daniels' service with the 40th Ohio volunteer cavalry regiment.
